NEWPORT, R.I. – Tennis legends Mike and Bob Bryan, widely regarded as the most successful men’s doubles team in history, have been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The twin brothers, known for their on-court chemistry and signature chest bump, are being honored for their record-breaking career that redefined the doubles game.
During a professional career spanning over two decades, the Bryan brothers amassed a record 119 ATP doubles titles, including an Open Era record of 16 Grand Slam victories. Their Grand Slam triumphs include six Australian Open titles, five U.S. Open titles, three at Wimbledon, and two at Roland-Garros, according to the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The duo also holds the record for the most weeks spent as the No. 1 ranked doubles team at 438 weeks.
“They’ve redefined doubles tennis. What they’ve done is nothing short of legendary,” said tennis icon John McEnroe on the Bryan brothers’ official website. In addition to their Grand Slam achievements, the pair won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics and were part of the victorious U.S. Davis Cup team in 2007.
The brothers, who were inducted in the Class of 2025, also won four year-end ATP Finals titles. As reported by the ATP Tour, the Bryans were also named the Fans’ Favorite Doubles Team for 14 straight years, a testament to their popularity. The pair retired from professional tennis in August 2020.
